Welcome to Digital Driver Education! My name is Marcy, and I developed this program to help you or someone you know learn the basic foundational skills that everyone needs to be able to drive safely and confidently. Driving well is an important life-long ability that must be mastered in today’s busy world. Many places do not offer good public transportation, and driving is a necessity to get to work, shop, and take care of the family.
For nearly 20 years I taught driver’s training and owned one of the top driver’s training schools. I was nicknamed “The Fixer” by many other driving instructors in the area, who regularly sent me students they claimed they could not teach, were not able to learn to drive, and could not pass the difficult skills assessment on the Graduated Driver License. I was able to not only teach those students how to drive, and drive well, but they passed their examinations with flying colors. I finally realized it was what I taught and how I taught that made all the difference.
Driving requires a basic set of skills that are built upon every time you put the skills into action. If you do not know what the skill looks like, let alone what to do with the knowledge, the information is not worth much. I realized that many pre driving age people in today’s world never watch anyone drive, as they are too involved with their phones or other devices. Things like landmarks are a mystery, and knowing what to watch for in traffic is non-existent. I taught my students step-by-step with thorough, patient instruction what to look for, how to maneuver the car, and the things you had to pay attention to in order to be safe. Knowing that these things were not being learned by most new drivers, and that the information wasn’t available to be found online, I set about developing a thorough, detailed, simple to understand series of short videos teaching the basic skills that everyone needs to know to be able to drive confidently and safely.
